September 27, 2011. C/Cn4 unveiled there new lineup and derail an undermanned Treehouse team
10-5 before packed house as usual to start the 2011/2012 season, the Treehouse team brought there
A-Game but were no match for the stone wall defense that C/Cn4 put on the ice, veterans player Scott
Creehan who joined in the scoring barrage stated early in per season that this may be the best
defense C/Cn4 has rooster-ed since we entered the league and w/new found youth, one John Fratello
who after taking an elbow to the chin, put on a one man stick handling show capped off w/2/scoring
strikes that raised the eyebrows of coach Clark.
Clark didn't think Fratello would even make the squad earlier this week and after the game stated that
veteran Ken Wilson may not see as much playing time if Fratello continues to improve,Clark also
commented on the play of Mike Waltz as he Bull-Dogged his way into position and tally 2 net ripping
chip shots early in the game to quiet the home ice Treehouse crowd, the crowd was a rowdy bunch
and several fans were taken out of the Artic Colliseum by local police 1 in handcuffs, new player Jerry
Erickson had 2 rifle shot slappers that were knocked down by the crafty Treehouse goalie Bi Stander,
Jerry stated I'm just happy to be here, with my career winding down I just want to survive the season
and drink a few beers,I thought I'd seen it all, these Treehouse fans are out of control,it's
OCTOBER-FEST FOR CHRIST SAKES lets let bygones be bygones and drink up.
Other highlights from the season opener was new starting goalie Jon Nezich, who was pummeled
early in the game, and then settled in to his net-minding business only allowing 2 goals after the
middle of the 2nd period, post game interviews w/Jon, he was quoted saying he was surprised at the
quality of play since being brought up,things happen alot faster here and I'm not used to these shots
and amazing stick handling in traffic, the 1 goal was screened by 2 guys- I never seen it!,I'm sure after I
get used to my defense my goals against will dwindle.Coach Clark had the last word and said a close
eye will be watching new goalie Nezich and would not hesitate to call on veteran goaler Brian Joffe
who has for now traded his goal stick, mit and blocker and is skating out this season for the C/Cn4.
Clark also stated lastly that all-in-all it was a great win,we had some great individuall effort
Nesbit,The Joffe Brothers, Vollbreck to name a few, if we can just eliminate some of the simple
mistakes I think we can go somewhere,we have some work to be done for sure but tonite we'll
celebrate tomorrow we are back on the ice getting ready for our home opener next Sunday.
